Mawaheb, Dubai’s one-of-a-kind art studio and community centre for people of determination aged eighteen and over, is launching a once in a lifetime collaboration titled ‘The Kaleidoscope of Love’ with world-renowed Artist Sacha Jafri.

Supported by Dubai Airports, the collaboration will bring to life artworks created by the Mawaheb Artists, working in collaboration with Sacha Jafri.

Wemmy de Maaker, Director of Mawaheb said, “Thanks to the genius of Sacha who has has meticulously cut, stretched, and reconfigured a large-scale canvas, we now have a stunning large- scale Artwork, alongside a collection of smaller Artworks and prints, each individually crafted and exclusively available for sale.

This extraordinary series will be unveiled during an invitation-only opening night, held at Studio Jafri, Sacha’s personal Studio and Gallery, which is usually open by appointment only. Invited guests will have the unique occasion to meet the Mawaheb Artists and Sacha Jafri himself, witness and have the opportunity to purchase an original artwork or print at a fraction of Jafri’s usual prices, in support of Mawaheb.

Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports. Paul Griffiths has long been a champion of Mawaheb’s mission. He served as the guest of honour during the opening of Mawaheb’s Abstract Exhibition in 2018. On a personal level, he shares a deep connection with Mawaheb and its students. Paul genuinely believes that the art created by Mawaheb’s talented artists belongs in galleries and museums, celebrated for its quality and talent, rather than as art from individuals with special needs. “

Sacha Jafri at Mawaheb Studio

Sacha Jafri, Studio Jafri. Renowned British Artist Sacha Jafri, is now described as ‘One of the World’s Leading Living Artists’, sitting alongside David Hockney, Jeff Koons & Damien Hirst. Known for his extensive Humanitarian work, he generously collaborated with Mawaheb Artists at his private Studio. “Mawaheb is a place where magic happens. The Artists at Mawaheb have a special way of expressing themselves through art that is captivating and authentic. They harness the ethos that Art knows no boundaries,” he said.

The multi award-winning and globally celebrated artist holds an esteemed career with recent commissions such as “The UNESCO World Heritage Sites Collection” celebrating their 50th anniversary. This unprecedented Collection was unveiled on the Burj Al Arab helipad and since its opening has travelled to destinations such as Mount Everest and the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, alongside the Louvre Paris.

Jafri holds the Guinness World Record for the “Largest Art Canvas” in the world. He is also the first artist in Rolls-Royce’s history to create a co-branded Rolls-Royce Car Collection. The six-car Phantom II Series entitled ‘The Six-Elements by Sacha Jafri’ also contained Rolls-Royce’s first-ever NFT and was described by their CEO Thorsten Muller-Otvos ‘as the most valuable Rolls-Royce Collection to date’. The Collection immediately sold out and charitable donations of over USD$1 million were made were made to four Foundations focusing on the areas of Education, Equality, Health and Sustainability.

Matt Horobin, brand partnerships expert. As the former director of brand engagement at DXB Airport, Matt has been an ardent supporter of Mawaheb since his involvement in various Mawaheb activations at the airport, including exhibitions, speeches, and choir performances. With over 25 years of brand and marketing strategy experience, Matt is an expert in forging impactful partnerships between brands. His journey with Mawaheb began when he recognized the studio’s powerful purpose and has since worked tirelessly to help corporate partners embrace it. “Mawaheb is more than just an art studio; it is a movement that challenges stereotypes and celebrates diversity. I am honoured to be part of this amazing community and to help spread its vision across the world,” he said.

Jessica Smith, leading global disability inclusion consultant. The former Australian Paralympic swimmer is also a public and motivational speaker and children’s author. As a public speaker, writer, lecturer and using her social media presence, Jessica helps facilitate honest conversations about diversity and accessibility, to highlight practical solutions to improve the lack of inclusivity within society. Jessica has launched two of her books at Mawaheb and continues to inspire the community with her courage and determination. “Mawaheb is a beacon of hope and positivity for people of determination. The artists at Mawaheb show us all that, passion and commitment are doorways for opportunities we never thought possible. I am proud to be an ambassador for Mawaheb and to advocate for a more inclusive Dubai,” she said.

Mawaheb’s Ambassadors play a crucial role in spreading the message of social inclusion. By raising awareness of the incredible potential of People of Determination, they open doors to collaborative projects towards a more inclusive society, a society that harnesses the full potential of every individual. After a decade of success in Dubai’s historic Al Fahidi district, Mawaheb art studio and community centre has permanently relocated to the Al Quoz Creative Zone. This move underscores its commitment to expanding its reach and impact within the community in Dubai and UAE at large.
