MyKaftan, the young ambitious brand from Dubai, is rocking famous fashion destinations this summer – the team has traveled from Dubai to Paris and New York to capture the essence of the brand.
Earlier in June, the team arrived to France to shoot Mykaftan’s signature double-sided satin robes around fashionable Paris avenues.
‘We picked iconic views of Paris for our street-style photoshoots – small streets with Baroque buildings; Bir Hakeim bridge, overlooking Eiffel Tower; Avenue Montaigne and Plaza Athenee ‘ – says Vasilisa Kozhemiako, founder and creative designer of the brand, – ‘We’ve got a lot of attention from Parisian people who were captivated by the trendy outfits while our models were walking the streets.
Few weeks later, the team traveled across Atlantics to New York City, not only to amaze luxury retailers there but also to showcase kaftans in the new setting. ‘We’ve got some amazing offers from multi-brand stores of New York whose buyers were absolutely in love with our pieces. It was unbelievable: being a small new brand yet feeling so welcomed in the capital of world’s fashion. Modest fashion is going worldwide indeed.’
While in New York, amazing styling photos were taken in Soho district, Dumbo, Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan. The model was a beautiful Korean American, a true citizen of the world, a perfect representation of the brand, that was created for women of all nations and cultures.
‘It was incredible to see how the same pieces, our kaftans, looked different and feel completely appropriate across Europe, USA and Middle East. Travelling helped us realize that we are heading the right way, where our style loved and accepted by women around the world.
This means that we managed to create modern looks, helping women feel beautiful without compromising their values. Something cosmopolite women can wear while conquering the world around them. And all of this while keeping the identity of the Middle-Eastern fashion, taking inspiration from local fashion trends and following the impressive modesty movement. I think it’s an incredible journey and I can’t wait to see our next destination with MyKaftan.’
