Christie’s fine art and luxury auction house unveils highlights from the forthcoming mid-career retrospective of leading Saudi contemporary artist Ahmed Mater, taking place at Christie’s headquarters in London from 17 July – 22 August. Featuring more than 100 works spanning paintings, drawings, photography, sculpture, video, and installation from his artistic career to date, Ahmed Mater: Chronicles represents an odyssey into the artist’s visionary practice.

Christie’s announces the bi-annual Autumn sale of Art of the Islamic and Indian Worlds including Rugs and Carpets, a live auction at Christie’s King Street, London, on 26 October. The sale offers a curated selection of carpets, ceramics, manuscripts, textiles, works on paper and metalwork from the Islamic world. With objects originating from the 9th century to the 20th century and featuring a diversity of artistic traditions, the lots offered come from a geographical area stretching from Spain through to Central Asia, highlighting the global reach, influence and longevity of Islamic culture and celebrating the high standards of craftsmanship that continue to be prized by collectors today.

“The Wheel of Time” by Wallace Chan at Christie’s, London

Christie’s is proud to announce The Wheel of Time, the largest exhibition in Europe to date of the exquisite work of Wallace Chan, renowned Chinese jewellery creator, visual artist and innovator. Through 150 pieces of jewellery, together with six titanium sculptures, some of which have never before been seen publicly, Chan considers the act of creation, looking back on major moments in his continuing career across five decades.
