A Solitary Walk Through the water III_100 x 180 cm_Oil on canvas
Andakulova Gallery, Dubai has announced the exhibition “Through the Mind” of Dusan Krivsky from November 1 to 10, 2022

Dusan Krivsky was born in 1973 in Nymburk, Czech Republic. He completed his Bachelor of Arts from Art & Design Institute Praha.

Dusan Krivsky is an internationally known professional artist. He’s from the historic town of Nymburk, Czech Republic where he still resides with his family. There are different philosophies in art as to how to master a genre. Dusan believes in versatility.

Dusan has been painting and developing his style since childhood.  He attended specialty fine art trade schools within the Czech Republic.

He has also been willing to leave the comforts of his homeland in order to learn and paint in austere locations. From painting en Plein air on the beaches of Normandy, France to botanical and nature studies in Indonesia, Dusan has been open to adding those color pallets and new techniques to his skillset.

He is a painter who addresses the surface of the canvas in a harmony of colours with ease and panache.

His paintings have been on solo exhibits since 2000 across Europe and Asia and on display in several International group exhibits too. He won second place at the International Design Exhibition Tendence Prague in 2009. There have been many media articles about him from around the world.

Dusan also creates set designs for film and television and has even made cartoon commercials.  But, his versatility doesn’t stop there, now he’s expanded his industrial paint business to interior design and furniture design.  Proving his wide range of talents by being commissioned to perform renovations on the Senate buildings of the Czech Republic.

The expressive approach of painting has been one of the significant artistic trends in the Czech Republic since the 1990s. But dark themes have dominated this current over the last few years, about interpersonal relationships, burnout, societal disasters. However, Dušan is also a romantic.

In his painting, as in the paintings of 19th-century European painters, the sea mirrors reflected clouds and horizons are hidden in fog. For the last two years, he has been focusing his attention on the themes of the sea, water and dramatic lighting in the garden. His paintings are not dark, they are dramatic, expressive and romantic at the same time.
