Join for a series of events including an interactive workshop, mapathon and performance connecting Palestine to the UAE public, from February 12 to 22 in Dubai.
In collaboration with Visualizing Palestine, Jameel Arts Centre’s February programme brings together five mediums—digital, print, three-dimensional artwork, the human body and movement in space—to explore and connect with a single map derived from a series of highly detailed depictions of Palestine from the British Mandate period, based on the final surveys before the Nakba.
The series of events includes the participatory Mapathon: Palestine Open Maps on February 15 (2-5pm) followed by a conversation with Visualizing Palestine co-founders Ramzi Jaber and Joumana al Jabri with their partners Ahmad Barclay and Hani Asfour. The exhibition closes on February 22 with a movement practice led by Dubai-based Soma duo, Kris and Pavlina Rai (3pm); ending with an immersive experience at 5pm.
Free and open to all; some events are limited capacity, please register in advance.
