Gathering 17 of Dubai’s best home-grown chefs and restaurateurs in Souk Al Bahar, Time Out Market Dubai is a food and cultural market bringing the best of the city together under one roof; all by local, home-grown talent. Alongside this, these new vibrant artworks are part of the Market’s programming to provide a platform to UAE based artists who get to showcase their skills.
Graffiti Artistry by Isl4m: A Celebration of Emirati Culture
Renowned for his distinctive graffiti art, Emirati artist Isl4m brings his unique perspective to Time Out Market Dubai. Born and raised in the UAE to an Egyptian father and Emirati mother, Isl4m’s work skillfully marries an art form traditionally associated with street art that expresses a celebration of culture and identity.
Isl4m’s creations, inspired by hip-hop culture, incorporate elements of spray painting and beautifully honour the rich tapestry of Emirati heritage. Guests at the Market can find one of Isl4m’s masterpieces next to Scoopi until the end of the year.
Unbreakable – New Mural by Dina Saadi
The Syrian Dubai-based artist Dina brings her unique vision to the Market, transforming a mural into a colourful masterpiece titled “Unbreakable”. The artwork serves as a tribute to the Womanity organisation and female change-makers in the Middle East and beyond, symbolising the values of liberty and resilience – it is a visual testament to the path towards equality and progress.
Dina Saadi says “I hope that anyone who views this artwork experiences a profound sense of tranquillity and inner strength, infusing the surroundings at Time Out Market with a positive and powerful energy of optimism and love.”
Guests visiting Time Out Market Dubai will now be able to experience Dina’s incredible mural, with a focus on bold patterns and bright colour palettes. The artwork draws inspiration from the diverse landscapes and countries that ‘womanity’ touches and references Dubai’s iconic landmarks, such as the Burj Khalifa and the Palm Jumeirah, Brazil’s Amazon Forest, The Great Mosque of Herat in Afghanistan and the Kanchenjunga mountain of India. You can also get the chance to learn from Dina herself and create your own masterpiece, as she is set to host the upcoming Sip & Paint event at the Market on September 24th, from 4pm to 6:30pm. Tickets can be purchased online here.
