Following a record-breaking season, Dubai Opera reveals its most exciting line-up yet for the 2024-2025 season, featuring a stunning array of world-class performances that promise to captivate audiences and further enrich the region's cultural landscape.

The season kicks off with the Polish National Opera bringing us a historic lineup with Verdi’s “Aida,” the timeless ballet “Giselle,” and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9. Each of these magnificent performances will be celebrated with its own grand opening gala, setting the stage for an unforgettable season at Dubai Opera.

1. Opera: Aida (13-15 September 2024)
Back by popular demand, Giuseppe Verdi’s masterpiece “Aida” returns to the Dubai Opera stage, performed by the Polish National Opera orchestra, choir and soloists under the baton of Patrick Fournillier and directed by Roberto Laganà Manoli. This timeless tale of love, sacrifice, and betrayal set in ancient Egypt is a must-see for opera enthusiasts and newcomers alike.

2. Ballet: Giselle (18-21 September 2024)
Prepare to be mesmerized as the immortal ballet “Giselle” graces the stage, presented by the esteemed artists of the Polish National Ballet and Orchestra also conducted by Patrick Fournillier andchoreographedby Jean Coralli and Jules Perrot. This romantic ballet tells the haunting story of a young girl transformed into a spirit, showcasing the ethereal beauty and emotional depth of the art form.

3. Symphonic: Beethoven’s 9th Symphony (22 September 2024)
Join us for a remarkable evening as the National Polish Opera Orchestra performs Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 at Dubai Opera. Known as a masterpiece of Western classical music, this symphony will resonate through the hall with its powerful and uplifting melodies.

4. Concert: Carla Bruni (27 September 2024)
Experience the enchanting melodies and irresistible charm of Carla Bruni as she graces the stage with her captivating songs. Known for her subtle melodies and soft, alluring voice, Bruni’s performance promises an intimate and unforgettable evening. Her debut album, “Quelqu’un m’a dit,” brought her international acclaim, spending thirty-four weeks in the top 10 of the French Albums Chart.

5. Concert: Umberto Tozzi – The Final Tour (28 September 2024)
Legendary Italian pop artist Umberto Tozzi brings his unforgettable farewell tour to Dubai Opera. With hits like “Ti Amo” and “Gloria,” Tozzi’s emotive lyrics and unforgettable melodies have resonated with audiences worldwide for decades. Don’t miss this momentous evening as he performs his greatest hits one last time.

6. Concert: Gustavo Santaolalla (5 October 2024)
Experience a historic evening with Academy Award-winning music legend Gustavo Santaolalla as he celebrates the 25th anniversary of his iconic album “Ronroco.” Known for his evocative and rich musical compositions, Santaolalla’s performance promises to be a highlight of the season. With acclaimed work on “The Last of Us” video game and film scores like “Brokeback Mountain” and “Babel,” Santaolalla has earned numerous awards, including two Oscars, two Grammys, nineteen Latin Grammys, two BAFTAs, and a Golden Globe.

7. Concert: Brad Mehldau (10 October 2024)
Enjoy an evening of exceptional jazz with Grammy Award-winning pianist Brad Mehldau. Known for his innovative approach and prolific output, Mehldau’s performance will showcase his versatility and depth as an artist. His work extends beyond jazz into film scores, including compositions for “Eyes Wide Shut” and “Ma Femme Est Une Actrice”. His album “Finding Gabriel” won the Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Jazz Album, highlighting his continuous impact on the music world.

8. Dance: Romeo and Juliet (17-18 October 2024)
Experience a bold reimagining of Shakespeare’s masterpiece, “Romeo & Juliet,” from acclaimed choreographer Benjamin Millepied, known for his work on the Academy Award-winning film “Black Swan.” This innovative production, combining cinema, dance, and theatre, offers a fresh perspective on the classic tale, set to Prokofiev’s enduring score.

9. Concert:  Il Volo (25 October 2024)
Prepare to be swept away by the mesmerizing harmonies of the extraordinary Italian operatic-pop trio, Il Volo. Known for its unique blend of classical opera and Italian classics, Il Volo has captivated audiences worldwide since its debut.

10. Concert:  Sophie Ellis-Bextor (26 October 2024)
Join us for an electrifying evening as pop star Sophie Ellis-Bextor takes the stage. Known for her chart-topping hits like “Murder on the Dance Floor,” Ellis-Bextor’s performance promises a night of unforgettable music and energy.
