fashion Karl Lagerfeld Pre-Fall 2023 Womenswear Collection
The KARL LAGERFELD Pre-Fall 2023 womenswear collection draws inspiration from designer Karl Lagerfeld’s extensive archives and, specifically, his legendary sketches. The collection is a joyful celebration of his legacy and offers a unique look into his inner imagination, fusing past, present and future.

The season also introduces The Ultimate Icon, a special-edition collection that celebrates Karl Lagerfeld’s colossal legacy and unique vision, which continue to influence today’s creative culture. Featuring chic eveningwear and accessories, the pieces redefine modern elegance. Dresses range from sleek silk to romantic ruffles, while a tuxedo is topped with dramatic lapels and statement accessories shimmer with high-shine finishes. The collection’s exclusive launch coincides with the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s 2023 Costume Institute Exhibition theme, Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.

Across the rest of the season, weekday wear radiates energy and versatility, with highlights including a boucle-inspired knit cardigan and a ruched t-shirt dress in signature red. Seasonal prints appear across the collection on everyday essentials and denim styles. Contemporary silhouettes are paired with chic embellishments, like denim trimmed with rhinestone tassels and a knit top with organza ruffle sleeves.
Styles transition seamlessly from day to night, with vibrant outerwear allowing for effortless trans-seasonal dressing. A jacquard suit boasts wide-leg pants, while the matching double-breasted jacket is perfect for daytime meetings or dancefloor moments. A cozy wool blend coat adds warmth to a jersey long-sleeve top and faux patent leather mini skirt, creating a sleek evening look for any season.

The collection’s streetstyle and weekend wear marry elegance and athleisure. The styles draw on natural terrains, reflected in colorful graphics and outdoors-inspired trims. Summer dresses and printed pant-sets move from daytime action to sunset elegance, along with padded coats and bright puffer vests.
In accessories, new options in colors and materials provide opportunities to add signature KARL luxury to any look. A centerpiece of the season is the new K/ARCHIVE FAN bag. With a vintage feel and contemporary sensibility, the bag features the archive fan as hardware embellishment. The K/ESSENTIAL bag line returns with a rich, recycled leather and youthful color options.

The season’s jewelry ties strongly to the seasonal theme and elegantly highlights the introduction of the fan motif with the K/ARCHIVE FAN line. This signature shape appears in luxurious gold on earrings, pendants, bracelets and brooches. Lustrous pearls define the expanded K/AUTOGRAPH PEARLS line, while the updated K/IKONIC styles provide fresh interpretations of timeless jewelry, including a playful appearance by the archive fan.
