The contemporary art and design fair focused on Africa and afro descendants, AKAA – Also Known As Africa, returns for its eighth edition from 20 to 22 October 2023, at the Carreau du Temple in Paris, France.
37 international galleries, with a selection of 117 artists, will meet under the glass roof of the Carreau du Temple in the heart of Paris.
‘An Odyssey of Identity’ Art Exhibition at Firetti Contemporary, Dubai
An Odyssey of Identity features the work of six artists who explore the complexity and multifaceted nature of oneself. Drawing on the influential theories of bell hooks, the exhibition explores the importance of compartmentalizing existence and acknowledging the ever-evolving construct of individuality. These works reflect the interplay of diverse cultural and social spectrums that shape individual experiences.
Efie Gallery: Art Dubai Debut and Isshaq Ismail Solo Show
Efie Gallery, the Dubai-based dealership specialising in contemporary African art, will make its debut at Art Dubai (1-5 March), displaying works by El Anatsui, Isshaq Ismail, Abdoulaye Konaté, Aïda Muluneh, Naïla Opiangah and Slawn.
