The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) announced Saudi artist Obaid Alsafi as the winner of the 6th edition of the Ithra Art Prize.
The highly anticipated archaeology season in AlUla has officially begun, marking the commencement of an intensive period of exploration and discovery. With 12 archaeological missions currently underway from October to December 2023, this region in north-west Arabia has become a hub for some of the most significant research projects in the world. The work will continue with additional archaeological missions planned in winter and spring 2024.

The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) and the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) are excited to invite entries for the 6th edition of the Ithra Art Prize under a comprehensive partnership to promote and grow the arts and cultural industries across Saudi Arabia. The open call for the prize, which comes with a grant of $100,000, closes on September 31, 2023. The winning artwork will be unveiled during the AlUla Arts Festival in February 2024.

The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) and the French Agency for AlUla Development (Afalula) present “Palimpsest of Time: Explorations in Creative Practice” from 17 February to 18 March 2023. Palimpsest of Time presents a survey of the AlUla Artist Residencies alongside an exhibition and open studio featuring artists who have participated in the current and previous editions of the programme. Set across two venues, the programme is on show in Madrasat Addeera and Mabiti, AlUla.
