In Dorsa Asadi’s Strange Fruit, the affective experience of living through the recent unrest
in Iran and its long aftermath is translated into a tripartite Dantean arc. Each part of its
narrative maps to a part of his epic allegorical poem the Divine Comedy, which served as
a vision for what would become the modern Italian language.
From April 27th to May 31st, Galerie Poggi, Paris presents the first solo exhibition of Ittah Yoda, a young artist duo formed by Virgile Ittah and Kai Yoda who joined the gallery in Januar 2022. This exhibition will present a new body of work exploring the idea of a “symbiocene” where the human, the natural and the digital would live harmoniously. Alongside their exhibition, the gallery invites French artist Josèfa Ntjam to take over the cabinets.

The Carré d’Art will turn thirty on May 9, 2023. Its building, designed by English architect Lord Norman Foster, makes a strong architectural statement. It presides over the heart of the city, on the site of the ancient Roman forum and temple, from which it derives its name, the Maison Carré “The Square House”.
The Arts Club Dubai announces a solo show by the acclaimed British artist Daniel Crews-Chubb (b.1984, based in London, UK), as part of the Club’s ongoing Stairway Exhibitions. The exhibition presents four totemic paintings illustrating the artist’s iconic figures and is the seventh exhibit to be hosted at the Club, since its opening in late 2020.

INLOCO Pop-up (Space Twelve Art Gallery) is continuing to host the exhibition «Useless Palace» until March 30 — a project based on the artistic intervention of an international group of artists whose work refers to street art.
Celebrating five years of its multidisciplinary space Concrete, Alserkal Avenue is presenting a rare solo presentation of work by artist Rana Begum. This will be the artist’s largest solo exhibition in the region to date and will include works that have not been shown in the region before. Begum’s work will explore the interaction of light, colour and form in dialogue with OMA’s Concrete, responding to the building’s architectural conversation with light and form, captured in its minimalist lines. The exhibition is curated by Dr Cliff Lauson. Dappled Light opened to the public on 26 February and will run until 22 March 2023
