Opera Gallery Dubai hosts renowned British-American artist, Anthony James, in his highly anticipated solo exhibition “Light”. On February 22nd, during the opening ceremony, James presented a unique experience of his brilliant artistic universe.

Inspired by the Arabic word “Noor”, meaning light with divine connotations, “Light” is a journey through James’ imaginative world. On display will be a curated selection of his standalone sculptures, mural pieces, and furniture, each imbued with mystique and rooted in sacred geometry.

40” Round Rain Painting (Aluminum Panel), 2023

Recognized for his sculptures that explore the intersection of light and space, James often incorporates mirrors and reflections to create a mesmerizing effect. The exhibition will showcase large-scale installations and sculptures, displaying the artist’s ability to turn ancient geometric forms into futuristic totems. The radiant pieces, from Dodecahedron to Bullet Panel to Rain, evoke the essence of infinity and challenge our perceptions of space and time. James gives infinity a tangible existence through light and reflection, transporting viewers into a contemplation of the divine.

As the only living artist with sculptures on display on all seven continents, including Antarctica, James’ global impact and versatility as an artist will be on full display. During the bustling art season in Dubai, collectors will have the opportunity to experience James’ sculptures in various environments within the Dubai International Financial Center.
