The well-known stylist and interior designer Nisrine El Lababidi from Harf Noon Design Studio have launched her first book “ Homes, We Make Them, They Make Us” and we couldn’t miss the occasion. This time she has expressed her creativity in another way and the result is stunning.
The presentation event took place In the lovely outdoor space at Kulture House. Safe distance and safety measures were carefully taken. For the ones who haven’t visited them, It’s a one a kind coffee shop & lifestyle concept store in Jumeirah.
It has a really well-curated collection from local and regional designers. You will also find limitless eclectic decorations from different world corners of the world. It will definitely wow you. Our favorite part was the “Green Room” and the hanging chair. During the event, safe distance and safety measures were carefully taken.
Getting into details…the book’s idea started growing into her mind during the lockdown out of the need she had for doing something productive while we were safe at home. It shares with us 15 representations and stories of what “home” means to the 15 famous faces, entrepreneurs, and creative minds we will find among its content. They have different backgrounds, however, all have a common factor, they all live in Dubai. Therefore, at the same time is a visual and written tribute to the city of Dubai for the way this city has become their home. As well as a home for global citizens in Dubai like you and me.
Our favorite part, besides having the chance to sneak into the marvelous houses and dream about having a coffee with them there, was the last part she titled “ Acknowledgments. At the end you can feel the effort and soul Nisrine has given to this book and how this new challenge has given her a lot personal and professionally. It’s being a challenging year for everyone but with results like this, it worths all the efforts.
Photography played a key role. As she said “ Photography is as important as the words” and Larissa Goncalves mixes design and photography magically. knew that they will play a key role. She has done an amazing job behind the camera. They make us feel welcomed at their houses as well as get closer to the contributors
