Known for signature culinary experiences amid stunning surroundings, Jumeirah Group has launched Thé À La Mode, an innovative new dining concept that will see the luxury hotel leader partner with cultural and fashion icons for a truly unforgettable afternoon tea.
Fuelled by a menu of pastries and savoury light bites, the latest addition to the brand’s culinary offering will be centred around cultural hot topics for a delicious and purpose-led experience. Inspired by the work of its Dubai Turtle Rehabilitation Project, the first creative collaboration will be with renowned Dubai-based artist and philanthropist Idriss B at Jumeirah Al Naseem’s Al Mandhar Lounge. A multi-sensory journey that draws attention to the conservation of these magnificent creatures, Turtle Tea by Idriss B will begin from the moment guests arrive with one of nine new members to his eminent Art Collection on display in the hotel lobby. This iconic series of polygonal turtle shaped sculptures, created by Idriss B from over 125kg of recycled and eco-friendly material by 40 3D printers, will be dotted around hotel and its grounds, including three giant statues in silver chrome, gold pearl and chameleon.
Inspired by these stunning artistic creations and a personal passion for the environment, Pastry Chef Julien Jacob will serve up a thoughtfully crafted vegan afternoon tea with a delicious assortment of savoury and sweet treats, using locally sourced ingredients, where possible. Perfectly paired with a pot of fine loose-leaf tea or freshly brewed hot or iced gourmet coffee, the experience will be served atop smaller show-stopping chrome turtle sculptures and include a Truffle and Vegan Cream Cheese Tart, Moutabal Toast, Avocado Tacos, Beetroot Ravioli and Muhammara Toast. For those with a sweet tooth, the indulgent selection includes Pistachio and Citrus Delight, Raspberry and Honey Kunafa, Pecan Caramel & Vegan Milk Chocolate Mousse, Exotic Fruit Pavlova and a Coconut and Chocolate Sphere.
With every Turtle Tea by Idriss B experience, a contribution will be made to its Dubai Turtle Rehabilitation Project. Members of the public can also call the newly launched dedicated toll- free hotline – 800TURTLE (800 887853), organised by Project Ambassador Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan bin Khalid Al Qasimi, if they find a distressed or injured sea turtle. Furthermore, guests can scan the QR codes on site to find out more about the collaboration and Jumeirah Group’s work with sick or injured sea turtles.
