A highlight of the season is a KL logo seal — inspired by a vintage wax seal that Karl originally created in the ‘80s — that appears as statement hardware on ready-to-wear trims, bags and jewelry. It’s Karl’s point of view reinterpreted for today with functionality, innovation and outspoken confidence.
The season opens with a strong outerwear offering, from puffer jackets and down parkas to feminine silhouettes in double-face wool with soft tailoring. Everyday essentials are complemented by spectacular standout pieces including faux teddy, mohair, luxurious shearling and a faux fur overcoat accentuated by a checkerboard black and white print. KARL LAGERFELD’s iconic Odina biker jacket is offered in five striking colors, in both leather and suede, and accompanied by matching handbags.
Signature tailoring features suit sets in classic black and fresh shades of olive and poppy red, and the single-breasted jackets are topped with a wax seal button detail. A bespoke bouclé fabric has been specially crafted by an artisan French mill; it appears on a matching jacket-and-skirt set.
As the season progresses, palettes are toned down as black and white graphics combine with House Monogram prints and lighter hints of purple. Texture play is a key theme, with high-shine details and material mixes, including sustainably sourced and recycled fabrics. For the festive season, a plum suit is topped with a sparkling sequin lapel and matching sequin mock-neck top.
SEVEN BLACK DRESSES CAPSULE
A special occasion capsule of seven black dresses is perfect for the holiday season ahead. Styles span from classic and demure to provocative and outspoken, including cold-shoulder silhouettes, dramatic sleeves, oversized bows and seductive slits. These dresses are ready for the red carpet and celebrate a KARL attitude of easy glamour mixed with evening allure — all with jewelry and accessories to match.
As selected by KARL LAGERFELD Design Director Hun Kim, the Fall-Winter 2023 “Hun’s Picks” are standout pieces ranging from understated to avant-garde. A knit bandeau top and matching skirt feature an engineered colorblocked motif, while a faux fur plum jacket is the ultimate fashion statement piece. Meanwhile, easy shirt-dresses and a punto blazer make for elegant everyday layering.
THE IKON K BAG
The hero accessory of the season is THE IKON K BAG, inspired by the clean, architectural lines of the letter K. Appearing across bags, accessories and jewelry, the instant icon makes an immediate impact. Across the bag range there’s a mix of suede fabrics, pop colors and metallic croc-effect leathers, for a total of 20 irresistible options of everlasting style.
Reflecting KARL LAGERFELD’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, selected styles from the Fall-Winter 2023 collection feature organic cotton, recycled nylon and recycled polyester. Over half of the Fall-Winter 2023 offering carries a KARL CARES hangtag, meaning the style contains at least 50% more sustainable materials.
