On 4 December Pantone officially unveiled the Colour of 2020; it is Classic Blue.
Blue is an absolutely elegant and beautiful colour and it is the colour of sea and sky. There are lots of unbelievable associations with the colour, e.g. purity, freedom, calmness, serenity.
The colour brings a sense of peace and tranquility to the human spirit and it is meant to symbolize protection, stability and confidence. The timelessness of the colour keeps our mind focused and clear, it also reminds us to slow down and appreciate the every minute of our life.
Vice President of Pantone Colour Institute, Laurie Pressman, in an interview announced that Pantone Colour of the Year 2020 is inspired by the classical hue of the sea.
“A boundless blue evocative of the vast and infinite evening sky, Pantone 19-4052 Classic Blue encourages us to look beyond the obvious to expand our thinking; challenging us to think more deeply, increase our perspective and open the flow of communication,” said Leatrice Eiseman.
“We are living in a time that requires trust and faith,” she added. “It is this kind of constancy and confidence that is expressed by Pantone 19-4052 Classic Blue, a solid and dependable blue hue we can always rely on.”
