On Sunday 30th August, one month after the cataclysmic explosion in Beirut, diners in Dubai can spend to help re-build the city. Restaurants, delivery platforms and fast-food outlets have teamed up to offer a percentage of each bill (from 30% to 100%) to Beirut-based charities, as well as giving guests the option to add their own donation. All donations raised will be coordinated through the Emirates Red Crescent.
Developed by a group of hospitality operators, the initiative has brought the entire business ecosystem together to provide an innovative and accessible way to drive donations for a worthy and important cause. The prestigious board is made up of well-respected regional organisations, including 7 Management as Initiative Coordinator, Al Tamimi & Company as legal partners, Garage 366 as the Marketing & Communications partner, Mazars as Financial Auditors, Reserve Out for brand onboarding and Oulo who facilitate all influencer marketing.
From 8am to 3am, the day will be dedicated to raising awareness and funds for Beirut and to celebrate the influence of the Lebanese culture that is woven throughout our daily lives. An enjoyable excuse to share mealtimes with loved ones and order for a cause, the initiative encourages guests, clients and residents to help the Beirut we all know and love, rise from the ashes.
By working with an eclectic blend of premium and affordable options, the project has ensured that it is within reach for all budgets. At this stage, the following restaurants have confirmed their participation, with many more to be announced soon.
